Our Industry and Supplier
Most industries have seen drastic changes in the way they operate, as well as in supply sources. At Square One, we have held true to our values in delivering quality doors at a fair price.
While supply chain issues, government regulations and other factors have altered our day-to-day operations over the past years, we have continued to ensure our focus remains constant. We are a long-standing partner that you can trust to deliver products economically and in a timely manner. Square One Business Products provides our partners with that security, regardless of the economic climate.
Our supply factories in South America are family owned and have been in constant operation for more than 70 years. Our primary supplier, Rohden Doors is one of the largest and most established companies in Brazil. They are one of the most modern, technologically advanced operations in the area. Our suppliers constantly strive to lead the industry in technological advances that will improve efficiency and quality with a special emphasis on being good stewards of our planet.
Environmental Concerns
As an early advocate of forest management and resource development, Square One’s primary supplier was the first Brazilian wood door manufacturer to obtain the Environmental Management System Certificate, ISO 14.00, in 1998. Shortly after that, the factory was awarded the prestigious Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certificate, which identifies them as operating under well-managed forest practices and adhering to strict environmental and socioeconomic standards.
You can rest easy knowing that your purchase of a Square One door means the least negative impact on our planet possible. Through well-developed reforestation, the factory is always looking to preserve natural resources, while continually improving techniques for the responsible and economical use of raw materials.
This philosophy is based not only on the commercial objective but also on the proper maintenance of the ecosystem as well. The harvesting of raw materials for production of timber products is perfectly sustainable on a long-term basis due to a well-managed plan that has been in place for over half a century to avoid negative environmental impacts through human actions.
Worker Safety
Personal safety and good human relations are a major concern for all our suppliers. We only do business with factories that adhere to the strictest personal standards in the industry. These factories recognize the value of their employees. As such, they have developed systems and programs for a thorough training process for each job in the factory. Systems are in place to optimize commitment and performance and enhance the understanding of satisfying the needs of its customers. Motivational and promotional policies are aimed at the integration of the workers into a family-type atmosphere that includes celebrations of festivals, social clubs, company events and more.
Career Planning programs allow employee growth through internal promotion and salary increases based on performance. Safety programs ensure the employee’s welfare and service providers. This is done by preparing, implementing, and monitoring technical safety standards, training, communication, emergency drills, CIPA and SIPAT.
These programs aim to promote and maintain the good physical, mental and social health of the employees to prevent accidents whether work related or not. Among the activities highlighted: Workplace Exercise, Clinical and Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Phono audiology with Initial and Periodic Examinations and Dental Care.
